Houston also gained notoriety within his company and was awarded the 'CBS/First Media Corp; 'Golden Ear Award' for practicing outstanding LOR Listener Oriented Radio and actively making Listeners the star of his show.

by (PBS) along with veteran CBS news reporter Betty Ann Bowser to Co-host "Almanac", a high profile Politics and Public Affairs television show on KUHT Channel 8, America's flagship PBS station.

JD hosted “Secrets of Making Money at Home” a distance learning TV show he created for HCC; Houston Community College - largest community college system in America.

Seeking a greater challenge...
Houston (for the next 2 years) hosted Cool Schools for the top rated CBS-11 Morning News  lauded by local educators like Dr. Rod Paige, Secretary of Education for President Bush 41, for shining a positive light on Houston schools.Television (On Camera) Work #4

“Mission Control Over” the world's first commercially sponsored TV show about the Space Program for the JSC / NASA as well as the first commercially sponsored TV show "ever" broadcast around the world "live" over the Internet.

JD Houston (along with his then co-host TC Bandit) while going mornings in Houston, TX was invited, along with several other major market radio hosts to come to Hollywood for a special taping of the "Martin Lawrence" show.  
The episode was called: "The Detroit Radio convention".  Although they didn't have speaking parts, JD and TC were seen prominently throught the entire segment.

JD was a regular visitor to both the boys Juvenile Lockup facility in Hartford and the girls Juvenile Lockup in Springfield, Massachusetts.


JD is single and lives in Avon, CT. His hobbies are bicycling and whipping unsuspecting young ballers in 1-on-1 hoops
